Large quantities of reliable power are required at today’s mines to provide underground illumination, moving ore and waste, sledding behind a shovel, or bringing a drag line to life.

Mine sites are typically in remote locations, away from an established distribution system. They have to bring in transmission voltages and convert them into utilization power while keeping the system mobile.

Transformers in this application must withstand extreme temperature ranges, high altitude, dusty/dirty air, and repeated shock and chronic vibration over the course of its life.

The rugged construction of PCT transformers has been proven time and again at mines from the Northwest Territories to the mountains of Chile. Engineered designs, to meet these challenging conditions, is what PCT is known for.
